Giuseppe Quaremba



PERSONAL DATA: Giuseppe Quaremba was born in 1951, in Naples, Italy, but considers the Earth to be his hometown. He has one son. He enjoys sailing in his free time.

EDUCATION: He received MD (summa cum laude) in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in stochastic engineering, Doctorate in Mechanical Systems Engineering and BSc (summa cum laude) in Aerospace Engineering, all from Federico II University, Naples, Italy.

EXPERIENCE: From 1980 to 1999, prior to coming to University, he worked for several Italian and American Companies (mechanical, chemical, automotive), as a plant manager. He began working at the University as a researcher. The main subjects of his scientific job have been dynamics and individual identification. His personal scientific research is connected with the vibrational aspects of complex mechanical systems for the automatic identification and monitoring of non-stationary and chaotic motion. He was qualified as an expert MIUR (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca) for statistics and mathematics. He is professor of Mathematics at the University Federico II and at the University of Cassino (FR). He also holds seminars on the theory of chaos and Wavelet Transform at the Faculty of Engineering, all at the University of Naples Federico II. He collaborates with various national and international research centers (CNR, Fraunhofer Institutes and Research Units, Scuderia Ferrari F1, Ducati, Elasis, CIRA) in the field of unsteady complex dynamical systems and image processing.

AWARDS: Best Paper for the 4th World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society, International Conference on Sensors and Signals (SENSIG '11), The Problem of GWN, pp. 363-370, 2011, with V. Niola and V. Avagliano.

Full Membership in Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.

PUBLICATIONS: He is co-author of numerous scientific papers published on international reviews and journals as well as co-author of two books on the theory and application of the wavelet transform integrated with the chaos concepts.
